A Visit to the Doctor
Last week, I woke up feeling sick with a sore throat and a mild fever, so I decided to call my doctor's clinic and make an appointment for the same afternoon. When I arrived at the clinic, I signed in at the front desk and sat in the waiting room with several other patients.
After waiting about ten minutes, a nurse called my name and led me to an examination room. Soon, the doctor came in, asked me several questions about my symptoms, and checked my temperature and throat carefully. She explained that I had a mild cold, which was common at that time of year, and that most people recover within a week.
The doctor told me to rest at home, drink plenty of water, and avoid cold drinks for a few days. She also wrote a prescription for some medicine to help with the sore throat. I thanked her and walked to the pharmacy nearby to get my medicine. After following her advice and resting for three days, I finally started to feel much better and returned to work the following Monday.
