At the Market
Every Friday morning, I go to the local market with my mother to buy fresh food for the weekend. The market is very busy and colorful, with many different stalls selling fruits, vegetables, cheese, and fresh bread.
First, we visit the vegetable stall, where my mother chooses bright red tomatoes, green cucumbers, and a bag of potatoes. The seller always gives me a free strawberry to eat while we shop, and I always say thank you with a big smile. Next, we walk to the bread stall, where the smell of fresh bread fills the whole street. My mother buys two loaves of bread and a small chocolate cake for dessert.
Before we go home, we stop at the flower stall so my mother can buy yellow flowers for our kitchen table. On the way home, we carry our heavy bags together, and my mother always says that shopping at the market is much more fun than shopping at a big supermarket. I agree with her, because at the market, everyone knows each other, and it feels like a small, friendly family.
